On August 30, 1972, John Lennon and Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band, joined by Elephant's Memory and special guests, headlined two historic One To One benefit concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Drawing a combined audience of 40,000 people, the shows raised over $1.5 million in support of children with disabilities. Remarkably, these were John Lennon's only full-length concert performances after his departure from The Beatles, and the final shows John and Yoko performed together, making them among the most significant live events in rock history.
Now released as Power To The People: Live at the One To One Concert, both performances have been completely remixed and re-engineered by Paul Hicks and Sam Gannon, using new HD multitrack transfers by Rob Stevens, with mixes mastered by Alex Wharton at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Produced by Sean Ono Lennon, the two concerts are thoughtfully condensed into a single definitive "hybrid" show.
This 2xLP set features art direction by Sean Ono Lennon, Simon Hilton, and Liz Hirsch, with cover, logo, and booklet design by Liz Hirsch. The package includes an 8-page booklet, a 6-panel newsprint poster, and 2 postcards, a collector's presentation worthy of the historic performances within.
